Apply a discount to one section of the offer
Give a single section of the offer — Solar, Battery storage, EV Charger, Heat pump, or an add-on — its own rebate, separate from the rest of the offer.
A per-section discount applies a rebate to one part of the offer rather than the whole thing. Where a global discount takes a single rebate off the entire option, a per-section rebate lets you discount, say, the battery storage on its own while the solar keeps its full price. Each section in the offer is a payment target — Solar, Battery storage, EV Charger, Heat pump, Additional, and Optional.
Before you start
- The offer must be in draft. Once a signature has been sent, that version is locked. Withdraw or wait out the pending request before changing prices.
- You need editor-or-higher access to add rebates.
- Turn on Configure payment by system (per-system payments) for the option first. Per-section rebates require each section to carry its own payment. Without it, the option has a single payment and you can only discount globally.
- Decide which sections need their own discount. You can give some sections a rebate and leave others at full price.
How a per-section discount differs from a global one
The offer stacks several discount layers, and per-section sits between the line level and the whole-option total:
- Line-level rebate — a discount on one individual line item, like a specific component.
- Per-section rebate — the discount this guide is about, applied to one section of the offer such as Solar or Battery storage.
- Option-level global rebate — a single rebate across the whole option. See Apply a global discount.
- Custom deal value — a fixed total that overrides the computed price for the deal.
Add a rebate to a section
When you add a rebate to a section, the offer splits that section into its own payment so the discount applies to it alone:
- Open the offer option and go to its payments view.
- Click Add rebate.
- In the Select target for rebate dialog, pick the section you want to discount: Solar, Battery storage, EV Charger, Heat pump, Additional, or Optional.
- A separate payment is created for that section and it moves out of the current payment group. The section now appears on its own, titled with its name (for example Battery storage) instead of the generic Component.
- Set the rebate on that section's payment as an absolute amount or a percentage.
- Save.
Note: Adding a rebate to a section pulls that section out of the shared payment group into its own custom payment. The remaining sections stay grouped together. This is how one offer mixes a discounted section with full-price ones.
Discount more than one section
Repeat Add rebate for each section that needs its own discount. Each pick splits another section into its own payment with its own rebate field, so you can run different discounts on Solar and Battery storage in the same offer while the rest stays at list price.
Check how it renders
Verify the rebates before you send. Open the customer's view of the offer and confirm each section's price and rebate row read the way you expect. Component prices show as unrebated list prices with the rebates broken out on their own rows, so the customer sees both the original section price and the discount.
Things to know
- A section here is a payment target. The six sections are Solar, Battery storage, EV Charger (the wallbox), Heat pump, Additional, and Optional — the same component categories used everywhere in the offer.
- Adding a per-section rebate switches that section to a custom payment. It leaves the shared payment group and is priced on its own from then on.
- Per-section rebates and the global rebate are different layers. A global rebate discounts the whole option at once; a per-section rebate targets one section. Use a global rebate for a blanket discount, per-section when only part of the offer should come down.
- Financed sections behave differently. A section set to financing uses the financing partner's terms, and the per-section split for financing distributes proportionally rather than as a flat rebate. Check the rendered offer before sending.
- Only draft offers can be discounted. Once a signature is sent, the version is locked.
