Create and apply discount templates
Store standard discounts your reps apply with one click, and control which users may grant their own free discounts.
This page covers the Settings side of discounts: the reusable discount templates (called Rebate templates in Settings, DE Rabattvorlagen) you define once, and the user right that decides who may discount at all. Applying discounts inside an offer (per package, line item, or total) is covered in full in the Offers walkthrough. For how the three discount layers stack on a single offer, see Apply a global discount in the Offers section.
Open the settings
Open Settings > Planning & offer > Rebate templates (DE Rabattvorlagen). Before you start, decide which users should be allowed to enter free-amount discounts versus only pick from your templates. That's a separate user right, covered below.
Create a discount template
- Click New.
- Set the status to active or inactive. Inactive templates don't appear in the offer, useful for seasonal promotions.
- Add an internal description of when and how to use this discount.
- Choose the type: Absolute discount (fixed euro amount) or Percentage discount (e.g. 5%).
- By default the template applies to all targets. Uncheck this to limit it to specific areas (e.g. heat pump only, battery only, or solar planning only).
Who can grant custom discounts
In the user settings there is a right called Custom discounts. If you remove it, the user can only apply discount templates in the offer, with no free amounts. Withhold the custom-discount right from new editors so they get used to the templates first; once they understand the pricing structure, grant the freedom.
Apply a discount template in the offer
Discounts can be granted in several places in the planning:
- Per package. In each planning area (PV, battery, heat pump, wallbox, additional components) the Payment > Discounts tab is available. Only templates marked for this target appear here.
- Total. In the Finalise step there is a total-discount option. Only templates marked for all areas appear there.
Things to know
- If a discount is larger than the price, the total stops at zero rather than going negative.
- For percentage discounts, the base amount depends on where you apply the discount (per package versus total). Keep that in mind when you set the percentage.
