Import a PV package

Pull a whole PV package (module, inverter, optimizer, and mounting) into the offer in one step instead of selecting each item individually.

A PV package is a pre-built bundle of components you import in one action. It's the fast alternative to selecting each piece of hardware by hand. For the item-by-item flow, see Add PV components manually. Packages are assembled under Settings > Planning & offer (Planning templates); their pricing comes from the component prices in your components catalog.

Before you start

  • The package you want must exist first. Packages are assembled under Settings > Planning & offer (Planning templates), not under Settings > Components; the components they bundle are priced in the catalog.
  • A package bundles the hardware, not the layout. Importing it pulls the components into the offer; you run the roof layout step afterward.

Import the package

  1. Open the offer's component selection.
  2. Choose the PV package you want to import.
  3. Confirm the import. The bundled hardware (module, inverter, optimizer, and mounting) is pulled into the offer in one step.

A package fills the offer's component list. It does not place modules on the roof, so you still run the layout step (auto-optimize or place manually) after importing. AC-side gear and cabling stay on the offer's component list, outside the 3D editor.

Lay out the imported modules

After import, place the modules on the roof:

  1. Switch to Modules mode.
  2. Make sure the imported module is selected in the Quick Access dropdown.
  3. In the Quick Access menu, choose Cover roof side to fill the roof automatically, or Add panel group to place modules manually (single click).

The imported inverter and optimizers are then wired in the stringing step.

Pro tip: If you import a new component into your catalog while the Plan3D editor is open, it shows up in the Quick Access dropdown straight away. You can keep working without re-opening the editor.

Things to know

  • A package bundles hardware, not the roof layout. You always run the placement step after importing. The package fills the offer's component list, the 3D scene comes next.
  • Package pricing is set in the catalog. Any package-level pricing lives in the catalog, not on the offer.
  • AC-side gear stays on the component list. Cabling and AC-side hardware are managed outside the 3D editor.
  • Add PV components manually — select module, inverter, optimizer, and microinverter one at a time.
  • Linked amounts — how the quantities inside a package stay coupled.
  • Plan PV modules — place the imported modules on the roof.
  • Plan strings — wire the imported inverter and modules into strings.
  • Components catalog — where the bundled components are priced (packages themselves are assembled under Settings > Planning & offer).
