Compare a competitor offer AI feature
When a customer is weighing your offer against someone else's, upload the competing offer and get a side-by-side breakdown of the technology, the pricing and the gaps, plus concrete talking points for the next call.
You lose deals you never see the reason for. Sales Assistant closes that gap: you upload the competitor's offer as a PDF or photo, link your own offer beside it, and get back a structured comparison of what each system actually contains, where you are stronger, where you are weaker, and what to say about it.
It reads the competing document rather than asking you to retype it, so a two-minute upload replaces an hour of manual spec-by-spec comparison.
This is an internal sales tool. The analysis is for you and your team, never for the customer.
Before you start
- Confirm you're allowed to upload the document. You're sending a third party's commercial document for analysis, so Reonic asks you to confirm you have the customer's authorisation before it will run. That confirmation is recorded against the offer.
- Have the competitor's offer as a PDF, PNG or JPG. Keep each file under about 13 MB. Larger files are rejected before the analysis starts and that offer is marked with an error, so split or compress long multi-page PDFs first.
- You need an Editor role or higher. Field workers can't run an analysis.
- Sales Assistant is on by default for every workspace. If you can't find it, it has been switched off for your workspace deliberately — ask your Reonic account manager to check before you troubleshoot anything else.
Set your workspace's competitive context
An admin can give Sales Assistant standing context about how your company sells, so every analysis speaks in your terms rather than generically.
- Open Settings > Sales Assistant Configuration.
- Fill in the additional instructions field with the things you'd tell a new salesperson:
- Who you actually compete with in your region.
- The angles you win on ("emphasise service quality and response time, not headline price").
- Anything you never want suggested ("never recommend discounting").
- Save. The guidance applies to every analysis your workspace runs from then on.
This is optional, and it's set once rather than per deal.
Run an analysis
- Open Sales Assistant in the Portal.
- Click New analysis project and give it a name you'll recognise later, such as Mustermann deal — competitor review.
- Drag the competitor's PDFs or images into the upload area. You can add several.
- Tick the authorisation confirmation.
- Click Create.
- Click Link own offer and pick the matching offer from your own projects, so the comparison has both sides.
Your own offer is read directly from your project data, so linking it is instant and costs nothing in accuracy — there's no document for Reonic to interpret.
Read the result
Each uploaded offer becomes a card showing what was extracted: the system size, the components, the pricing, and the financing terms (monthly payment, duration, interest rate) where the offer states a payment plan.
Above the cards, the project-level view splits into tabs:
- Overall — the summary read of where this deal stands.
- Price — how the totals compare, and what sits behind the difference.
- Technical — the component-by-component comparison.
- Ranking — where each offer places.
- Recommendations — what to do next.
Two panels carry most of the value:
- The weaknesses panel is what's working against you: where the competitor is genuinely stronger, or where your offer looks worse than it is.
- The how-to-win panel is the counter-argument, phrased as talking points you can use in the next conversation.
Pro tip
Take three points into the call, not fifteen. The how-to-win panel is deliberately a shortlist. A salesperson who works through every bullet sounds defensive; one who leads with the strongest three sounds prepared.
An analysis usually completes in well under a minute. A progress bar tracks the stages, and the project updates on its own when it's done — you don't need to refresh.
Keep the competitor list tidy
Over time the same competitors arrive spelled several ways, and the comparison fragments across near-duplicate entries.
- Merge duplicates from the competitor list when you spot the same company recorded twice.
- Refresh a competitor's profile to re-read what Reonic knows about them after you've analysed several of their offers.
- Retry a stuck offer from its card. An offer that ended in an error can be retried without rebuilding the whole analysis.
Merging and refreshing are admin actions.
Things to know
- Keep the analysis internal. It is written for your sales team, in blunt terms, and it discusses a third party's commercial document. It is not customer-facing material.
- The competitor's document is read by an external AI service. That's what the authorisation confirmation covers, and it's why the confirmation is recorded with a name and timestamp.
- Uploaded documents and analyses stay in your competitor library. Tidy it from time to time.
- The comparison reflects the document you uploaded. A competitor offer that is vague about its components produces a vague technical comparison — the analysis can't recover detail the source never stated.
- Analyses don't sync to your CRM. The result lives in Sales Assistant; anything your pipeline needs to know, you carry across yourself.
- Mobile is view-only for now. The full analysis reads properly in the Portal on a desktop; the mobile app doesn't yet show the result panels.
- Both residential and commercial offers are supported for linking your own side of the comparison.
