Scheduling

Set installation dates and assign the right team.

Scheduling an installation is two jobs: putting the dates on a calendar, and deciding who does the work. Reonic handles the first on the Planning Board, a resource-scheduling grid where every person or team gets its own row, so a whole day of crews is visible at a glance. The second is block-level assignment inside the installation itself, where each part of the checklist can go to a different person or team.

How scheduling fits together

Scheduling pulls on two surfaces that each have their own detailed walkthrough:

  • The Planning Board is the dispatcher view for placing and moving appointments. Inside an installation's calendar it's the only view available, and new events you create there link automatically to that installation. For the full walkthrough on placing appointments, see the Planning Board pages.
  • The installation itself is where you assign the work. For how an installation works end to end (the lifecycle from signed offer to handover, the checklist, team assignment, and the country-specific filings), see Overview of installation characteristics.

Schedule an appointment

  1. Open the installation and go to its calendar, or open the Planning Board from the home calendar's view toggle.
  2. On the resource row of the person or team you want to schedule, move your cursor over the time area at your chosen start time. A + icon appears.
  3. Press and drag horizontally across the time slots that cover the appointment's duration. The grid shows a preview of the span as you drag.
  4. Release. The event drawer opens, pre-filled with the resource you dropped on and the start and end time from your drag.
  5. Fill in the title, attendees, description, and project link, then save. The new appointment appears on that resource row.

Inside an installation, events you create here link automatically to that installation.

Assign the work to a team

Assign installation work at two levels:

  • Block level. Each block of the checklist can go to one or more users and one or more teams. Different blocks of the same installation can go to different teams, so the roof-mounting crew gets the solar block and the electrical crew gets the battery block.
  • Installation level. Name the lead installer or responsible user for the whole project. This drives the project's status card and the customer-facing communication.

Two technicians can fill separate blocks of the same installation at the same time. Split work by block so each person owns their own items and entries stay clean. Field workers see their assigned blocks in the Mobile App under My installations.

Things to know

  • Resource rows you can write to accept a drop. Rows you can't write to show no + icon on hover. If a row won't accept a new appointment, check your role's access to that resource.
  • Appointments can share a time slot on the same row. When two events overlap on one row, they stack, so scan the row to confirm the crew's day reads the way you intend.
  • Each appointment is a single event. Set each date individually.
  • Field workers schedule on a different surface. The Planning Board is a Portal dispatcher view. Field workers see their dispatched work through the Mobile App's assigned-installations list.
