Add components to your catalog

Learn how to find your component catalog and add products—via support, the Reonic database, or custom components—plus how to search, filter, and choose the right component type.

Components are the building blocks of your quotes—every PV panel, inverter, heat pump, EV charger, and service fee that appears in your offers must first be set up in the component catalog. This guide shows you how to find your catalog and add new components to it.

Finding Your Components

The component catalog is where you manage all the products and services you offer to customers.

To access your components:

  1. Look at the left sidebar menu
  2. Click Components (located just above Settings, near the bottom)
  3. You'll see your complete product catalog

New accounts come with basic sample components so you can start creating offers right away, even before uploading your full product catalog.

Adding New Components

There are three ways to add components to your catalog, each suited to different situations.

Option 1: Contact Support

You can text the support staff who will help set up components with all the technical specifications already filled in. This is the easiest option if you're setting up your catalog for the first time or adding multiple products at once.

Option 2: Add from Database

Reonic has a pre-built database of common components that you can add directly to your catalog with specifications already included. This saves you time looking up technical data sheets.

Option 3: Add Custom Components

You can manually create custom components for products not in the database.

To add a custom component:

  1. Click the Add Component button
  2. Select the component type from the list
  3. Fill in the required details
  4. Save the component

The available component types include PV modules (solar panels), inverters, battery storage, heat pumps and heat pump components, EV chargers, installation fees, service fees, and more.

Pro tip: Different component types require different technical specifications. For example, PV modules need wattage and voltage data for system simulations, while service fees only need a name and price.

Searching and Filtering Components

The search bar and filters help you find specific components quickly in large catalogs.

To search for a component:

Type the component name, brand, or article number in the search bar at the top.

Filter options let you narrow down by component type, brand, or other criteria.

Component Types Matter

Choosing the correct component type is important because different types have different data requirements and behave differently in system simulations.

For example, PV modules need technical specs for energy calculations, inverters need voltage and power ratings for system design, service fees only need pricing information, and heat pump components need heating capacity data.

The system uses this data to calculate system performance, energy production, and profitability for customers.

What's Next?

With components added to your catalog, the next step is to fine-tune how they appear in quotes—images, descriptions, and attachments—and keep your catalog organized. See the guide on editing and managing component details.

Then check out the guide on creating offers to learn how to use your components in customer quotes.
